Mr Morritt frequently treats patient’s following significant weight loss surgery (bariatric surgery). Weight loss surgery e.g. gastric sleeve or gastric band etc can cause dramatic reductions in a patient’s weight. Patient’s are frequently left with excess, loose skin on the chest/breasts, abdomen, arms and thighs which can affect their confidence and make them feel self-conscious. The skin having previously been over-stretched has lost it’s elasticity and cannot shrink down to tighten up after weight loss which can be disheartening for the patient. Ideally patients who have had weightloss surgery (bariatric surgery) should only proceed with cosmetic surgery once they are at a stable weight (ideally for at least 6 months) and are no longer losing weight.

Skin tightening surgery
It is common following significant weight loss to have excess skin. Patients who have lost skin commonly have lost their skin elasticity or have stretch marks so their skin has lost its ability to shrink down or tighten up. No amount of exercise, dieting, creams or non-surgical treatments can tighten the skin. Skin tightening surgery which most commonly involves tummy tuck, breast lift, arm lift or thigh lift surgery can remove significant amounts of excess skin giving a better contour. For some patients who have excess skin in areas which are not commonly treated, we offer custom operations for skin tightening which are designed for the individual patient.
Cosmetic surgery after weightloss injections
Mr Morritt regularly treats patients who have lost significant weight following weight-loss injections (liraglutide, semaglutide (also known as Ozempic or Wegovy)).
Cosmetic surgery procedures after weight loss or bariatric surgery – before and after photos
Case 1. Photos showing the appearances before and 6 weeks after Fleur de lys abdominoplasty (FDL tummy tuck) and liposuction to the hip area. This lady lost 6 stone after a gastric sleeve procedure (bariatric surgery in Sheffield) taking her to a BMI of 32. Thanks to my kind patient for giving permission to show her images.
Case 2. Photos showing appearances before and 6 weeks after Fleur de Lys abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) and mons (pubic) reduction. The patient’s tattoos have been airbrushed. This lady was unhappy with loose skin and drooping of the mons area following 8 stone weight loss after gastric bypass surgery. Thanks to my kind patient for giving permission to show her images.
Case 3. Photos showing appearances before and 6 months after fleur-de-lys abdominoplasty (FDL tummy tuck) and muscle tightening. My patient was unhappy with her loose abdominal skin after losing 6 stone (38 kg) following gastric band (bariatric surgery or weightloss surgery in Sheffield). The top left picture shows the surgical markings for the skin removal/skin tightening. Thank you my kind patient for giving permission to show the results from her tummy tuck journey.
Case 4. Photos showing appearances before and 8 weeks after fleur de lys abdominoplasty (FDL tummy tuck) and mons reduction surgery. Having lost 8 stone after gastric bypass surgery (bariatric surgery) this lady was unhappy with the appearance of her tummy which would not tighten up despite regular exercise. Skin tightening was achieved with a FDL tummy tuck and mons reduction. In this lady’s case mons reduction was obtained with excision of skin and fat which both lifts the area and flattens it. Thanks to my patient for giving permission to show these images.
Case 5. Photos showing appearances before and after fleur de lys abdominoplasty (FDL tummy tuck). Having lost 8 stone (51kg) following gastric bypass surgery, a further 3kg of tummy was removed giving a flatter, tighter profile. Thanks to my kind patient for giving permission to show these images.
